Class Descriptions

At Radiantly Alive we offer a range of yoga classes suitable for every practitioner, from beginners classes to advanced workshops. From Yin Yoga to our own Radiantly Alive Vinyasa Flow, there is something for everyone.

Acro Yoga

A class based in the practice of acroyoga that combines the wisdom of yoga with the playful expression of acrobatics and the loving kindness of Thai massage. The class provides a wonderful opportunity truly experience trust, community and the chance to take your practice off the mat and into the air. No need to bring a partner or have any prior experience, beginners welcome.

Arm Balance

Explore balance through breath and strengthening postures in a fun and challenging sequence of arm balances designed to teach you how to strengthen and balance with ease. You will be guided through specific techniques designed to strengthen your body, overcome fear and develop the balance required to achieve arm balances postures. Each class builds from the foundations – working from the ground up to ensure you achieve confident and safe arm balances.

Art of Release

This class is like no other healing class!  Why?!  We use ALL relaxation techniques that we can find.  We will dive into Yin, Restorative, Sitting Meditations, Special focusing techniques, Kriyas or cleansings, Active Meditations, Roll & Release, Dancing, Fascia Unwinding/Release , Pranayama and many other forms of Relaxation.  Healing, having fun, stillness, intuition play and self study is this class in a nutshell.  Come with your open mind and heart and the benefits will be yours.  Every class is a new experience and every class is ALL LEVELS with NO experience necessary.

Asana Lab

Join us as we explore where our asana practice can go. This class is a mix between workshop and flow, taking a deeper look at arm balances, inversions, and advanced variations. Come discover the playful nature of asana practice as we fall, laugh, and balance together. This class is open to all levels—all that’s required is an open heart and a willingness to discover what’s possible!

Ashtanga Inspired

If you love Vinyasa but find Ashtanga’s primary long seated sequence a bit boring, this class was created for you! Ashtanga Inpsired is the perfect “masala,” or mixture, of Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga postures. In this 90 minute class, Ashtanga postures from primarily the first and second series will be mixed in a non-orthodox order, leaving more space for new challenges and surprises for both beginners and more experienced Ashtangis.

Ashtanga Vinyasa, Led Classes

Guided classes give beginners a sense of the structure of the practice. The teacher leads the class as a group with clear instruction on each pose & the breathing technique. Guided classes are great for learning how to practice and also for the energy that comes from everyone breathing and moving together.

Capoeira

Our Capoeira classes are designed for practitioners of all skill levels. Classes start with the basics and fundamentals of the practice. Students are encouraged to learn and be challenged by the movements and rhythm passed on to them, yet also given the opportunity to develop their own flow. Come learn, play, and have fun!

Fly High Yoga

With the aid of gravity and the Hanging Yoga Belt, learn how to lengthen the spine and increase your flexibility. The hanging Yoga Belt is a fantastic tool to perform restorative inverted poses, and to intensify ground Yoga poses as well. It relieves tension in the muscles, elongates and decompress the spine, and increase flexibility.

Gentle Flow

Wake up with the sun, roosters and all the locals! Get out of bed, right onto the yoga mat and into your body! This soothing gentle class starts with sun salutations to greet the sunrise and focuses on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. The classes will also include some basic pranayama (breathing techniques) and chanting.

Myofascial Movement
Fascia is the interconnected sensory organ that covers everything in our body – every organ, every muscle, every bone, even every muscle fiber. It gives us strength, flexibility and elasticity–though can be out of alignment due to everything from injury, to thought patterns, to different forms of repetitive exercise. This class will focus on unraveling, strengthening, and lengthening fascia while deeply calming the central nervous system. Gain benefits whether a new student or movement professional. Leave feeling light, calm and buoyant.
QiGong Class

Learn how to move healing Qi (Energy), create a calm mind, an open heart and how to have a deeper connection with yourself, others and nature.

Qigong provides an avenue in which Peter can assist individuals in the breaking down of these stories. As well as being a great source of exercise, Qigong provides enormous physical health benefits including improving balance, lowering blood pressure, quieting the mind through the use of movement meditation and has even been known to assist in the easing of depression.

RA Vinyasa

Dynamic classes linking breath with movement, Vinyasa, or flow classes, build heat, strength, and flexibility, through intelligent sequencing of challenging asana (postures) creating more focus and presence in our lives. Students benefit from the encouragement of the teacher and the class, finding their own edge between challenge and acceptance.

Restorative

A slow and thoughtful class with gentle movements and a focus of developing softness and surrender. A relaxed pace and attention to breath will allow students to develop greater awareness and foster a deeper sense of inner calm.

Roll and Release

A body-mind centred class to help open and release the connective tissue (fascia) in the body in a direct way. Utilizing props such as tennis balls, blocks and mats in commonly congested areas of the body also known as trigger points helps to restore fluidity to day to day movements, while calming and bringing the mind to the current moment and space.

Salsa Dance

In this class you will learn the basic foundations of Salsa dancing. You will learn how to listen to the music, so you can step to the timing.  This will help you to dance in connection with your partner, and enjoy the music.  We’ll cover basic steps, turns, and body movements, in a fun and lighthearted environment. No experience necessary, just a willingness to let loose. No need to bring a partner… but please bring your Salsa hips!

Salsa Dance - Intermediate

In this class you will learn the basic foundations of Salsa dancing. You will learn how to listen to the music, so you can step to the timing. This will help you to dance in connection with your partner, and enjoy the music. We’ll cover basic steps, turns, and body movements, in a fun and lighthearted environment. No experience necessary, just a willingness to let loose. No need to bring a partner… but please bring your Salsa hips!

Sky Yoga Core

This class with target your abdominal core, hip core and shoulder core. It is a strength and conditioning class where we will get sweaty and create lots of heat. The class is set to energetic music and will increase your overall fitness.

This class is meant for all levels but will be structured as a more intermediate class. Please arrive 20 – 30 minutes prior to class for hammock setup and remove ALL jewelry.

Sky Yoga Flow

This unique class uses the Sky Yoga aerial hammock in a dynamic sequence. We move from one pose to the next and link each posture with breath. This will create balance between strength and flexibility in the entire body, and the class is all tied together with a unique blend of yoga philosophy, music, meditation and pranayama.

There is an acrobatic element to this practice and it is appropriate for all levels, beginner to advanced. Please arrive 20 – 30 minutes prior to class for hammock setup and remove ALL jewelry.

Sky Yoga Therapeutics

In this session the body is fully supported by the Sky Yoga aerial hammock and we hold poses for long periods of time to allow for rest and relaxation. This class will increase your flexibility in body, mind and spirit.

This class is for all levels, beginner to advanced practitioners.

Please arrive 20 – 30 minutes prior to class for hammock setup and remove ALL jewelry.

Soft Evening Flow

Tune into your body, breath, and sensation with a gentle flow sequence in Slow Evening Flow. Then, gradually slow your nervous system down with calming Yin postures to settle for the evening.

Tibetan Heart Yoga

Tibetan Heart Yoga combines the traditional Indian asanas (postures) with authentic visualizations, meditations and breath practices of Tibetan Buddhism. Historically, when Buddhist traveled from India to Tibet, the Yoga Sutras and related yogic teachings were transmitted at the same time. Hence, the Buddhist lineages of Tibet have always considered Yoga a key aspect of Buddhist practices. THY emphasises the meditative and spiritual aspects of yoga as being equal importance as the postures.

Yin

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues within our bodies, providing a deeper stretch through holding the poses up to 10 minutes in length.
Yin is suitable for all levels of students.

Yoga Beginners

Beginners yoga is a class based on the optimal alignment of the body. The class is offered at a slower pace with the support of yoga props so that beginners can cultivate the body awareness required to do yoga safely. Detailed explanations are provided and questions are encouraged. The class consists of physical postures, meditation and breath work. A regular yoga practice will help you build strength, increase flexibility and find focus.

Yoga Core

Yoga Core is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body. The blend of strength, endurance and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. This is a class designed for all levels, beginner to advanced. Our mat classes emphasize spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing and developing a strong core for improved coordination and balance. Yoga Core takes a balanced approach, using the bodies own resistance, so that no muscle group is overworked and the body moves as an efficient, holistic system in all daily activities.

Yoga Dance

Put some flow into your down-dog with Yoga Dance Class. Explore your favorite yoga poses but in a non-linear dance style, with fresh music and sequences every class.
